Kyl Carrigan

Chief of Slyboots OBX

Kyl is a Buffalo born multi-instrumentalist performer and educator based in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  In 2003, Kyl moved to SUNY Fredonia to study music and improvisation with David Darling and others and there he met Griffin and On the Sly.  Specializing in guitar and bass performance, Kyl became the leader of several musical outfits including the collaborative rock orchestra, "G-spot Tornado" which featured members of several local groups including On The Sly.  In 2005, Kyl moved into the SlyFarm and helped to produce SLYFEST 1, 2 & 3.  In 2008, Kyl helped to host the SAAKUMU Dance Troupe at the Slyfarm for their first international tour with the Slyboots School and Kyl began studying drums with Griffin, Rasta Eddie and Bernard Woma.  

Currently, Kyl serves as the Chief of Slyboots OBX where he hosts regular drumming classes and special events including seminars and workshops with master performers from around the US, Africa and beyond including annual visits from the SAAKUMU Dance Troupe of Ghana, West Africa, The Slyboots Circus, On the Sly and Griffin Brady.
